For the non-South African: our degree structure is a 3-year BSc with the option of an extra 1-year Honours degree, which includes a research project. I am not currently offering to take on higher degree students to the following is for information only.

A Masters can either be a 2-year MSc by thesis or a 1-year coursework plus thesis degree.

A doctorate is a PhD by thesis, usually taking 3 years.
