Mentorship Lessons from Growing a Developing Country Journal

Open access journals, the worst of which are considered to be “predatory”, are a cottage industry with a large number especially in developing countries. I describe experience with developing a quality open access journal, South African Computer Journal, and outline lessons for others wishing to develop a quality journal with constrained resources, particularly how to use such a journal to mentor emerging academics.
